TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT

CIVIL AIR PATROL INSPECTOR GENERAL SENIOR-LEVEL TRAINING COURSE

This course is designed to help CAP Inspectors General, Assistant Inspectors General, SUI Inspectors, Investigation Officers, Command, and Staff personnel understand and execute better their responsibilities and duties as they relate to the Inspector General System. This course satisfies the knowledge requirement for personnel aspiring to be on an inspection team, and is an essential element for completion of the IG specialty track senior level.

You should have this training if:
– You are currently serving in a command or wing/region staff position
– You want/need a better understanding of the CAP IG system
– You desire to attend the National Inspector General College (this course is a prerequisite for the IG college)

The CAP Inspector General Senior Level Training Course is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 17-18 March 2018. The course will be held at the Kentucky Wing Headquarters, 101 Old Soldiers Lane, Frankfort, KY. Registration will start at 0800 on Saturday. Classes will run all day Saturday, and should be completed by 1700 on Sunday.

Student Requirements:
– All applicants must be a member of Civil Air Patrol
– Priority of application acceptance is: Wing or Region IGs or assistants; unit commanders; group, wing or region vice-commanders and chiefs of staff; legal officers; others interested members with the approval of CAP/IGT.
–  Laptop computer or tablet (mandatory)

Uniform Requirements: AF blue shirt, with or without a tie, CAP aviator shirt, with or without a tie, or blue golf shirt. All uniforms shall be worn in accordance with CAPM 39-1.
Application Procedure: Those wishing to attend this course must register by sending a CAPF 17, no later than March 1, 2018, by email to course instructor Col Maurice Givens, GLR/IGI at

Transportation: Those members wishing to fly CAP aircraft to the course should plan to fly into Capital Airport (KFFT). The airport is next to Kentucky Wing Headquarters. Those taking
commercial airline flights should arrive and depart at the Lexington, Kentucky Airport.
